Possible Deportation of Sex Assault Suspect Triggers Court Appearance by Prosecutor - 1/14/09
On Jan. 14, Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi and Assistant Prosecutor LaJuan Tucker appeared before Superior Court Judge John Dangler to argue to increase a defendant's bail to make sure he appeared in court on sex assault charges. The defendant who had been charged criminally for sexual assault had been taken into custody by the Federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which would have lead to his deportation prior to appearing in court on the criminal charges. Ultimately, his bail was increased from $75,000 to $300,000, cash only. This matter is currently under appeal by defense council Michael Fletcher.

Closing in on Jimenez Murder Conviction - 10/22/08
After nearly two months in Superior Court Judge Salem Ahto's Morristown courtroom, Senior Trial Counsel John McNamara lays out his final argument in the Porfirio Saravia Jimenez case in October. Jimenez was later convicted of murder in the death of 10 year old Morristown resident Walter Enrique Contreras Valenzuela. The boy failed to return home on May 20, 2001. On May 22, 2001, the body of the victim was discovered in a wooded area off Cory Road in Morristown.
